FIGURE DRAWING: AN EXPLORATION OF THE HUMAN FORM USING MIXED DRAWING MEDIA

Students will explore a variety of drawing methods and techniques while observing and working from the nude figure. Using a range of media including pencil, charcoal, inks and other water-based media, students will start each session with a handful of five minute gesture/action poses that will help acquaint them with rapid and energized mark making. Following the gesture warm up poses, the model(s) will assume a sustained pose(s) that they will hold for the duration of the class, utilizing the practice of sight measuring and other observational techniques that will be demonstrated throughout the session.
