Tom Hubbard: Uncharted

Tom Hubbard: Uncharted

January 19 - February 23, 2018. Opening Reception, January 19 from 6-8 PM

Uncharted is a continuation of Tom's recent Transience series. The mixed media work is an exercise in mark making exploring the effects of mobility, the passage of time and orienting oneself in a new place. Working with a visual vocabulary referencing movement, place and measurement.

STATEMENT
When you come to a fork on the road... Take it. The Transience series was inspired by numerous relocations and a desire to understand not only where I come from but the things I carry with me. This work led me to a more direct approach to image making, the shedding of some aesthetic baggage and marks grounded in personal experience. Through this process I have become more comfortable being uncomfortable.
