PRINCIPLES OF DYNAMIC WATERCOLOR LANDSCAPES

This informative but fun course goes into great depth about how to paint one’s own personal landscapes. It will touch on all the steps involved, including the initial sketchbook ideas in black & white such as thumbnail sketches, value studies, design principles, & other strong compositional guidelines. We will also tackle more subjective qualities such as mood & message. At the same time, we will be learning interesting & unusual watercolor techniques, as we turn out small water media renderings. The goal of the class is to open up the creative process within each student so that they will develop their own unique ideas & styles. Even though students are focusing on watercolor medium, the principles taught in this course are designed to advance whatever art direction one chooses to go. Ages 16 and up!
