FIGURE: ACADEMIC OR ABSTRACTED

This course will begin with 2 sessions drawing from a nude model to generate a handful of figure drawings and end with 2 sessions turning those drawings into traditional academic or abstract paintings. Students will explore different modes of transferring their drawings to the painted substrate, while experimenting with different painting media from water-based media, acrylic, to oils if desired.  Examples of professional artists from the past and present who currently work and have worked in this manner will be discussed during each class. Supply list will be sent upon registration.
