Many people are not familiar with how the rich, dark values in charcoal or the versatility of Conte crayon can create such beautiful, finished drawings. These special characteristics will be revealed as the class utilizes the techniques of applying this media on different surfaces. The elements and principles of design will also be emphasized, along with certain approaches such as the sight/size method and the golden ratio principle. The class will focus on various subject matter such as still life, animals, and people.
