Learn the rewards and challenges of Plein Air painting and how it is different from other types of painting. Develop a basic understanding of landscape painting and a way to see the big picture by using the theory of angles while developing an eye for seeing the large masses in the landscape as a way to get started.

Class will be instructed by local artist Frank Carstarphen who recently painted this Ware's Folly in watercolor as seen in the image to the left.

First class will meet on the grounds of Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art and other locations will be announced.

Please note social distancing and masks are required for safety.
