This class is designed to teach students essential functions while using a digital SLR camera. Instruction will include, shutter speeds, controlling motion, exposure control, and menu items such as resolution, file types, ISO and white balance. Instruction will also include an introduction to downloading, sizing and e-mailing images, basic image editing using Photoshop and taking better pictures using great composition techniques. I have often heard the mournful lament of those new to art expressing disappointment that the other students seem to already know more than they do. If you’re an authentic beginner, then you’re in the right place! In this very basic, structured, informative class we will go over all the materials & how to use them. The first 2 weeks will be spent drawing as we explore values & contrast, forms, texture, proportion, & other elements of design. The 3rd week we’ll get into introductory watercolor mixing & techniques, followed by 2 weeks of painting subject matter step-by-step.
