This class is about exploring expressive and creative ways to use various 2D materials and mediums to get across ideas, emotions, and various feelings that are best expressed through a more abstract approach of representation. Using various methods meant to inspire an idea, such as creating an automatic drawing to build off from, mark-making to a song or album that you listen to with headphones to express the sound. Exploring mixed media such as painting with collage, combining drawing and painting, abstraction and representation. Techniques and ideas in this class are meant to inspire creative thinking towards the expression of ideas and use of the medium and materials. Students may bring their own desired materials.
